INTRODUCTION OF CRF SECTIONS
Cosmic CRF is implementing a Greenfield project for manufacture of Cold Rolled Formed (CRF) Sections at Singur, Dist Hoogly, West Bengal. CRF sections are an alternative to hot-rolled metal sections as these offer various advantages besides cost savings. The product finds wide application in building systems, automobile industry, railway wagons and coaches, and various other industries. This project is being set up to initially cater to the demand from the Indian Railways for CFR sections from Stainless Steel material. CRF Members Cold-Formed Steel (CFS) is the common term for products made by rolling or pressing thin gauges of sheet steel into goods. Cold-formed steel goods are created by the working of sheet steel using stamping, rolling, or presses to deform the sheet into a usable product. ADVANTAGES
When a steel section is cold-formed from flat sheet or strip the yield strength increases as a result of this cold working, particularly in the bends of the section. Some of the main properties of cold formed steel are as follows:
